The answer is yes and no

Your automation should be something like this:

When someone comments on your post/reel, Manychat send them a DM (your first message). In your second message, you can ask to follow you to continue the conversation and create a block conditions to confirm if that person already follows you.

Wow thanks ​@rodrigo_silvano , do i have to have the pro version to create such conditions? I’m new to many chat using the free version and this looks complicated to me . Many thanks!

All the steps needed are available in the Free Plan. You just have to be aware of its limitations (the main ones are the 1000 contact limit, just use up to 3 keywords and just have up to 4 active automations for your account).

As for the flow, Rodrigo's example will work fine, but if you wish, you can set the condition right at the beginning. Something like this:

1. Right after the triggers, you set a Condition step that verifies if the contact follows you on IG

2. If True (follows the account) = Define your standard flow.
3. If False (doesn't follows the account) = You can set a message asking the contact to follow and a button linked back to the condition.

If the contact starts to follow your account and taps on the button, Manychat will identify it and send the flow to whom follows the account. 

IMPORTANT: If the trigger (or one of them) is comment on post or reel, remember to set the first messages that are sent as Comment reply. In this case, it applies for items 2 and 3.
