Hi, I’m having trouble understanding how to correctly set the content type for my broadcasts in Manychat.

I’ve created a list where users have explicitly opted in to receive daily updates (promotional messages). However, when I send the broadcast and check afterward, it’s marked as non-promotional content, even though the message is promotional in nature.

When I’m setting up the broadcast, I notice a "Reason" field during the process, but it only shows me the list I’ve created and doesn’t give me the option to specify whether the broadcast is promotional or non-promotional. I can’t find any settings or options to adjust this during the setup process.

Could someone guide me on how to properly configure the broadcast type as promotional

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey @OliverDK you’re using Messenger for this, right?

You need to have the user optin to a Messenger List, then it’ll become available when you do the Broadcast. In the image there are 2 test lists created:

You can find out more about Messenger Lists here: https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/14281158573852-Messenger-List

Hope this helps!

Hi Gustavo, thanks for responding. I am going straight to broadcast, then “new broadcast”  and i see reason. I click on my list and hit send.

Once send i go to History and click on the msg i just send.

Then it is saying “non promotional content”

I tried with “Promo & updates” list + a list i created my own.

@OliverDK got it!

You can disregard this. As long as you’re sending them the content they opted in for, you’re good to go.

I’ll let the dev team know that this text probably needs to be updated :D

Cheers!
