Hi Manychat Support Team, thank you for this amazing product,
I know similar question had been asked before, with no answer.
I am getting an error message, as if i am comunicating outside of 24 hours wind, but i know this is not the case.
I am chatting with a page owned by me from my personal IG account, so i know i interacted recently.
So i am getting that last interaction was some absurd amount of time ago, my question is how is this:
What is considered an interaction: a message from customer, like, post comment, mention, etc…?
Is it Manychat who keeps track of “last interaction” or is it Meta platform?
Please give a clue on this, if possible.
Thank you.
Hey,
We can have 2 situations:
- When someone comments on your post or reel, it activates your automation, but is not considered an interaction. After the comment, Manychat sends the first message you wrote (usually with a button/quick reply). If the user clicks the button on the first message, it opens the 24-hour rule, which means that the user starts an interaction, and you have 24 hours to communicate with the user. Note: if you create an automation to reply your comments on DM, and your first message has a button with a link, the second message won’t be delivered because it won’t open the 24-hour rule.
- When someone activate your automation through stories or direct message, it counts as an interaction, so the 24-hour rule open immediately.
Manychat works side-by-side with Meta to guarantee that all users comply with the Meta’s Community Standards.

The window doesn’t open even if I send a direct message. Why is this happening?

Oleg, I have a workaround that worked for me. I just used the sendFlow endpoint instead. It works! Just create some flow that send IG direct message and call it using this endpoint.
