Does a number purchased with Manychat work with the free version of the tool?

I was going to buy a WhatsApp number directly from Manychat to integrate it into my account, but then I got this screen.

What I understand is that, practically, Manychat forces me to keep the PRO version to use the WhatsApp number I bought with them.

Am I right or can I also have the WhatsApp number purchased with Manychat with the free version of the tool?
