Does Manychat works on WhatsApp accounts made with virtual Skype phone numbers?

Hello!

I just made an account and this is my first entry on this forum.

I am thinking of using Manychat on my WhatsApp account. The only thing keeping me from doing this already is that I am not sure if the software will work properly on WhatsApp accounts made via Skype phone numbers, instead of an actual cell phone number. I need to be kinda sure about it because a Skype phone number is really expensive and they do not offer a free trial so I can run tests on it.

Could please anyone help me with this? I know that's a very specific question, so I appreciate any help from anyone willing to help me.

If you can authenticate it with Meta, then it will work with Manychat.

And, as far as I know, to authenticate with Meta/WhatsApp you need to be able to receive an SMS on that number for verification.

So, without having tested this, I’d say that if you’re able to receive an SMS on the Skype number, then you should be able to do it.

I haven’t used Skype numbers in a while, so I’m not sure what their policies are on SMS...

Won’t it be cheaper just to get a regular phone number? Trying to understand why use a Skype phone number.
