I want my AI Step to kick in ONLY if someone ignores the buttons and types an answer in a specific flow  - how do I do that?? The instructions I read said to use the User Input field but I can’t get that to work for this - I think they are outdated.  I don’t need to save their answer but I want the AI to activate and help them get to the right place.

Can anyone share a visual of how this works or a video?? (this is for Facebook only)

Hello, @tam9

When you ask a question to the user, you can set your questions in three ways:

  • Save response to a custom field
  • Give them 3 buttons to choose
  • Give them up to 11 quick replies to choose

Unless you need to send them a link, you can use the third option (quick replies).
When the user doesn’t click the button, you can reply to them and say, “Please, tap one of the options”.

Let me know if it helps 🙂

Try setting it up as default reply

So I want them to use the buttons to answer, but if they DO NOT click the buttons, and simply send a message, I want the AI to pop up and give them some information.    This would be used for both my Default Message and also for any of the flows that have quick replies.  Any tips for that??

@tam9 my suggestion is that you use the default reply for that.

If you need different prompts (if they're on flow A they get AI prompt A, but if they're on flow B they get prompt 😎 then what you can do is to add a variable on flow A/flow B indicating in which flow they are, and you start the default reply with a condition (depending on the flow the person is, they'll get different AI steps with different instructions).

Hope this helps!

Thank you!!!  Can you show me how to add a variable on flow A/flow B?? Is there a visual or a link you can drop?? That’s new to me unfortunately

First you set a User Field on your Automation…

And then you set your Default Reply like this:
