How to automate for a scheduled or upcoming Instragram post

To automate for an upcoming Instagram post, the only option is to automate for an existing post.

The upcoming or scheduled Instagram post requires users to comment to receive a link, however the post doesn’t appear in the Manychat dashboard.

We don’t want the post going live and people comment, and nothing happens.

Is it possible to automate for a scheduled post?

Hey, @jayeye

If you are a PRO user, you can select the option: “Next post or reel

Hey, @jayeye

I see what’s happening..

When you’re going to create an automation using a pre-made flow, you can see these two options:

  1. Quick automation
  2. Flow builder

The first one doesn’t let you schedule for the next post or reel, but if you select the second one, you’ll be able to do it.

Let me know if that helps 🙌🏼

Thanks Rodrigo. I’ve followed the steps and its not working even though the trigger is live.

I even duplicated a previous automation I had used successfully and edited it, still doesn’t work when I preview or post.

I’m not sure if its on a delay but I thought it would auto-reply and DM immediately when I user comments.

Hi @jayeye

  1. In your Manychat account, pls Refresh permissions via the Help button:

14981583722012

  1. Confirm that Manychat can access messages on Instagram. To do this, open your Professional account, go to Settings and activity → Messages and story replies → Message controls → Connected tools, and toggle Allow access to messages on:

14981074778908

  1. If the above doesn't help, I would try to set up automations for all posts and reels. When a reel is published, set a trigger for that specific reel, and turn off the trigger for all reels/posts.
  2. Here is some more info about troubleshooting. https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/14281308423452-Instagram-automation-troubleshooting
