Hi all,
Urgent please - I need to be able to pass a value to a custom field in Manychat, while setting up in JSON ADs.

Any idea how to do this please? ie. pass payload directly in the JSON AD setup, that gets saved into a specific Custom Field in Manychat?

NB: The value of the custom field can/will be different for each different AD that is setup.

Appreciated.

Thanks

@David_Ezih I'm pretty sure you won't be able to do that…

The only alternative I see is trying to setup different triggers for the different ads. Since each ad has its specific trigger you can know where it's coming from, and therefore set the values you want inside of Manychat.

Here's some documentation on the Ads Trigger for Facebook:

https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/14281372007196-Facebook-Ads-Trigger

And for Instagram:

https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/14281321942428-Instagram-Ads-Trigger

Hope this helps!

@Gustavo Boregio Thanks.
But I reckon this defeats our main objective, to “allow our clients to set up an ad in Facebook Ads Manager without our intervention”.

As I see the suggestion above, still requires additional setup within Manychat for EVERY new AD created in ADs Manager no?

@David_Ezih that's correct, you'll need to create a new trigger for each ad created.

@Gustavo Boregio Cheers.

  • So there’s no way to simply pass some tracking value to the JSON payload, to track different AD performances (assuming all ads use SAME Manychat flow) ?

  • Also, does it mean Manychat does NOT support JSON Ads option anymore? as I don’t see the option to create FB JSON Ads code in Manychat.

  1. Yes, that’s my understanding.
  2. I believe JSON ads have been deprecated, yes.
