Have an automation in place to send 1 of 2 DM’s to people that comment on a post. One message includes a button with a link to an external site and works just fine.

 

The second option is a message with quick reply options. It seems that accounts that don’t already follow us don’t receive this message. It gives them a message notification, and while on our end it looks like our message was sent, they have an empty DM. 

 

Not sure if this is an issue with the automation, their Instagram DM limitations, or Instagram in general. Has anyone else had this issue or found a solution? 

I have experienced this too.  It’d be nice to get a reply from Manychat about this.

Same issue here. I actually noticed it 1st when someone else was using many chats and I was the one who wasn’t following them, and because of it, was having issues receiving the message.

​@Pink Door Photo so if you setup the automation to only send one message with an external link it will send to nonfollowers just fine? but if it’s an automation that contains a message with a quick reply button it won’t work?
