Hi all!  So Sequences!  They are frustrating!

 

I am trying to set up a relatively simple sequences that contains 4 newsletters (weekly newsletters for each week of the month of May) and I am certain that I know how to do that (set up a “Condition” node that looks at the date and time and sends out the relevant email when a new contact is tagged appropriately and subsequently subscribed to a sequence)…

...but Manychat does not agree!  I have tested this with a few dummy accounts and, even though I have the first message of the Sequence set up as “Immediately” send, I don’t get an email immediately!  Instead, when you’re looking within Manychat at the dummy contact account (and trying to figure out what’s going on), all you get is a message that says:

“New message from sequence: Test Sequence copy

was received on May 1, 2024 4:06 PM”

But I don’t see a follow up sentence that says “Email message sent”

 

I don’t understand what I’m possibly doing wrong.  I have included a screenshot of the simple flow where you can see the “Contact event occurs” was triggered one time (on my test) yet if you look at the email node, absolutely nothing was actually sent out.  Does anyone see something I do not?

Ok for this to work you need to make sure that:

  1. Your email setup is correct and complete in Manychat
  2. The user is subscribed to Email with a valid email address
  3. The Tag trigger works correctly. Here, if you bulk apply the tag it won’t trigger automations, you’ll need to trigger the sequence in a different way.
  4. Lastly, check the Logs, you may need to add funds to your wallet to keep sending emails.

If all that is checked off, then it should work.
