I have contacts that are attached to different channels such as Messenger or SMS.
I want to update the contact person on the WhatsApp channel, but I don't see an option to opt-in to the WhatsApp channel, only Opt-out.
What am I missing?
By the way, I also tried to update the contact via API but without success.

It's just setting or importing the phone numbers.
Meta defines you having and using the contact's phone number as an Opt-In for WhatsApp.
You'll have to send Message Templates to get in touch with these contacts and you have to pay for that. If your contacts report your messages as spam, you can even have your number blocked. So… It's like Meta saying: "I trust in you, but don't mess up.”

Olá @fabio.gaulke tudo bem? Eu por aqui novamente com dúvidas. Entendo que o opt-in do Whatsapp se dá pela aceitação de uma message Template, mas como eu configuro o opt-in novamente quando o cliente dá um opt-out e se arrependende clicando em um botão “mudei de idéia”?
