Hi Community 👋

I have a subscriber whose contact information in ManyChat shows “Opted-In for WhatsApp”

However, when I try to send them a flow using the sendFlow API, I get this error:

"Content can’t be sent to the subscriber without a message tag. Subscriber’s last interaction was over 58h ago (more than 24 hours ago)."

I assumed that being marked as “Opted-In for WhatsApp” would allow messages outside the 24-hour window, but apparently not? Could someone please clarify: Does "Opted-In for WhatsApp" allow sending after 24h? Note I am sending message_tag: "CONFIRMED_EVENT_UPDATE".

@FaisalRathor no, the only way to send outside the 24 hours is using WhatsApp Templates.

@Gustavo Boregio Thanks for the clarification! Just to confirm — this 24-hour rule with opt-in and message templates applies specifically to WhatsApp only, right? How does this work for other platforms like Facebook Messenger or Instagram? Are there any similar options available there for sending messages after 24 hours?

@FaisalRathor all channels have restrictions - the only exception is Telegram.

For Messenger, you can send within 24 hours after the last interaction, and you can also have people optin to Messenger lists.

For IG, there's the 24 hours and that's all, no option to reengage after 24 hours.

For WhatsApp, you have the Message Templates.

In TikTok, you have 48 hrs and a max of 10 messages.

@Gustavo Boregio  Thanks a lot for the clear explanation! This really helped me understand the platform limitations across each channel. Appreciate the support!
