Hello,

I own a tattoo and piercing studio, and I’m new to ManyChat, still trying to figure out how everything works.

Right now, we’d like to integrate our most commonly used communication platforms with ManyChat and later add automations and AI features. Our main platforms are Instagram and WhatsApp. Instagram is working perfectly—we have access to all messages, etc.—but WhatsApp has been a bit tricky.

WhatsApp is our primary platform for client follow-ups and aftercare, but from what I understand, if we connect our current number, we will lose all our messages and face multiple limitations.

Creating a new number isn’t ideal for us either, as our business cards, merchandise, and other materials all point to our current WhatsApp number, which is also our main phone number.

Is there any way to set up a new number and have all messages sent to our current WhatsApp number automatically redirected to the new one, allowing us to gradually migrate to ManyChat while keeping the old number active?

Here’s how I imagine it working:

  1. A client messages our current WhatsApp number.

  2. The message is automatically redirected to the ManyChat-connected number.

  3. We reply from ManyChat, and the client receives the response from the new number, along with an automated message informing them that future communication will continue there.

Is this possible? If not, what would you suggest?

Thanks a lot!

@manopurpura I suggest you wait until COEX is fully released.

COEX allows you to keep the same number and the Business App, and at the same time connect the Manychat API.

This is currently in Beta and some of us can connect these accounts for our clients. But word on the street is that it won't be too long before it's released to a broader audience.

@Gustavo Boregio thank you so much for your reply. That sounds very promising. Could you however quickly enlighten me what COEX is, or direct me to a link that explains it? I tried to google but I don’t think I found the right one. Thanks a lot once again.

@manopurpura it’s a Meta feature that lets you have your usual WhatsApp Business number (connected to the Business App) also connected to Manychat and running automations.

So basically you don’t have to create a new number, you connect your existing number, add Manychat automations, and keep control of everything in the Business app at the same time.

@manopurpura I have it working with some clients already and it’s by far the best solution for businesses that rely on WhatsApp like yours.

Super awesome!! Thanks a lot 🙏

@Gustavo Boregio  Is there any way for me to keep an eye to when it might be available?

@manopurpura I’m sure it’ll be announced here in the community once it’s open to everyone ;)
