Hello ManyChat Support Team,

We are planning to connect our online store to Instagram automation through ManyChat.

Our goal is to set up automatic DM replies triggered by comments under posts.

On average, we plan to publish around 10 posts per day, and for each post we’d like to create an automation flow that will trigger replies in Direct Messages.

We understand that user activity may vary, and we want to make sure our setup complies with Instagram and Meta rules.

Could you please clarify:

  1. Are there any limits or safe thresholds for the number of automatic comment replies or DMs per day/hour?
  2. Are there best practices to avoid our account being flagged as spam or limited?
  3. Is it safe to duplicate one automation flow for multiple posts, or is it better to create separate ones?

Our main goal is to automate communication and optimize the manager’s work while staying fully compliant with Meta’s policies.

Thank you very much for your help and guidance.

Hey Vicktoria.

According to my experience, I have learned the following regarding comment triggers

1: There is no limit so far for comment trigger per hour or per day.

2: To avoid account being flagged, Use only specific keywords to trigger the automations. Add multiple public replies. These public replies should be little lengthy and unique. Use different variants for each trigger. First DM of comment trigger should be very clear and specific. Don't write a general or vague message. Another pro tip: Always use solid buttons in first message instead of quick replies. Because sometimes these messages land in to request folder. And these quick replies will not be visible to users until they accept the request.

3: You can duplicate the automation. No issue in that. But choose different keywords. Keywords should not be overlapped. And rename the each trigger. It will help you in the segmentation of users.
