Hey Manychatters! Trilce Jirón Garro here with a super practical update that’ll make your contact management so much easier. You can watch the tutorial here

You know how when a new contact comes in, Manychat pulls their name or username from social media? That’s great… until you end up chatting with someone named “🌸” or “@user4839.” 🙃

Well, now you can manually edit their first and last name right inside of Manychat! 🎉

Here’s what’s new:

✅ Edit names directly from the contact profile
✅ Works across all channels (yes, including WhatsApp!)
✅ Update names inside Live Chat while chatting with a lead
✅ Give your contacts proper names for easier follow-ups, CRM sync, and personalization

Example:

If someone comes in as "Clover" on WhatsApp but you find out their real name is Carla Avilés, just click into the contact card and update her info — right there in the Live Chat panel.

Small change. Huge improvement in how you manage and nurture your contacts.

👀 Go try it out and let us know:
What amazing canned responses are you creating with first name variables?

@Trilce Jirón Garro This is amazing!
Quick question: Is the First Name field in WhatsApp now also filled in by default? I notice that if someone talks to my WhatsApp account, the First Name pops-up in Live Chat, but if I use the conditon “First Name has any value”, it never has a value…

So I basically now use a Make integration to always fill the First Name field if someone talks on WhatsApp, but it would be better if this would be default Manychat.

Not a clue @Joren Wouters but that's so odd cause in my business they do show on first name searches! Let's wait for somebody from Manychat to reply to us

Hey @Joren Wouters. Thanks for pointing this out. Live Chat is displaying a derived version of the First Name. We are working on a fix that will display this correctly for new contacts.

Finally a basic feature that a lot of others do on market. Thanks
