I need help adding audio

Joseph Silva

I'm trying to upload an M4A file for automation, but the system is recognizing it as an MP4 and giving an error : Unsupported 'mp4' format. You can use 'wav', 'x-wav', 'm4a', 'x-m4a'.

Hey everyone, 🤗

I had the same problem this morning.

Here is how I fixed it:

Once you have your voice recording / audio saved ➡️ Head over to this website: https://www.freeconvert.com/m4a-converter

➡️ Choose your file ➡️ Convert it ➡️ Download it ➡️ Then add it into your many chat automation and Voila ✨

It will work for you!

Not sure why you have to convert an “m4a” file into an “m4a” file again - but that is how it worked for me.

Hope this helps!

I'm also suffering from the same problem, I've tried different ways to solve it but it doesn't work!

Did you find a solution to this? It is giving me the exact same error right now.

The same problem here. Tried to convert the M4A to WAV and it seems to accept it, but when testing the automation the audio is blank.

Definitely this feature is not working.

Has Manychat addressed this issue ?

This will do the trick!

I also recommend converting it to WAV.

And remember: instagram only supports max 1min long audios.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been having the same issue when trying to send audio notes from my PC—every attempt fails, but it works fine from the mobile app. I also tried setting up audio within automations, but I ran into the same issue there.

It’s great to see the community working together to find solutions! However, I was wondering—has anyone from ManyChat support ever addressed this problem? Have they provided any official updates, or are we on our own with this?

ManyChat is fantastic for marketing, but I must say, their customer support can be quite a challenge. If anyone has had success or insights into getting support for this, I'd love to hear your experiences.

Thanks in advance!

Hi everione,

I had to open a ticket with support. and They promptly attended me.

In my case I was not able to upload the audio (m4a), and I also before the support I tried to convert in all type of extentions, mp3, wav etc.

The problem was solved after I saved the audios files in my computer. Seems that apple to keep the enviroment safe doen’t allow to share the file from the icloud to app.

So after saved the file in my computer I could upload the file into the flow.

Have a great time!
