Hey everyone!
I'd love to use the manychat automations for email list growth but I'm concerned about GDPR compliance. When we connected manychat to Active Campaign people got added to the list but they didn’t receive the email for the double opt in which is mandatory in Europe. Does this not work with manychat? What’s the best way to use manychat for email list growth while also staying GDPR compliant.

Hey ​@Virginia I haven’t worked with the native integration in a while, but I’m pretty sure that you can sort this out with some setting in ActiveCampaign.

Just make sure to add the person to a list that requires double optin and have it set to trigger the optin email.

Manychat will get as far as adding the person to ActiveCampaign. From there you need to set things up in AC.

Hi ​@Virginia....ManyChat doesn’t send the double opt-in email automatically. You need to collect consent in the flow and trigger the confirmation email from ActiveCampaign after they’re added. This keeps it GDPR compliant.

Just to clarify to other users that there is no obligation to have double opt-in on your marketing communications in EU.

It is indeed a best practice to do so.

If you want to have double op-tin, you’ll need to use an ActiveCampaign form instead of the native integration on Manychat.
 


And you can also do doble opt-in with Manychat!

You have to do it manually (send the first email, tag the person when the confirm, etc), but it’s doable!!
