Tik Tok Business Account

Hey Steph!

At the moment, TikTok channel only works with Business account types (this is a limitation from TT side).

We are working hard to unlock the channel for other types of accounts as well. 

In the meantime, can you please share your thoughts on whether there are any blockers for you to switch the types?

Thanks for the info Natalie! I’ve been told that a business account on Tik Tok has limitations to music and other certain features and they also do not get as much organic reach.

This is also one of the argument for TT team to expand their capabilities :)

I really am hope that it does get switched. Because the trending audio is so much better on the personal page. However for this experience I am will to switch over for awhile just to see how it will work.

Yes. I switched to the business account to try out the feature but I am not going to lie. It is so difficult with the trending audio. They absolutely suppress you from getting trending audio to help push your content. I think once you come to an agreement with Tiktok that using this feature on the personal account will be so much more beneficial. Right now I really don’t see many people switching over to the business account. But for the sake of trying out and seeing if this will work for both accounts I think its brilliant

I’ve had a business account for years on TikTok (300k followers) and have not found it to limit my reach! You don’t get popular songs but there are still plenty of audio to pick from. I like having a business account for the extra insights and ability to run ads

Hi! Chiming in here as well. Definitely NOT switching my TikTok account to a Business profile because that would plummet my reach, kick me out of the creator fund, and limit my ability to make commissions using TT shop. When we signed up, for this Beta, the onboarding form said a Personal account was fine, so I’m surprised to see this.

Are we able to switch to a business account to try the features and switch back to personal for regular use?

Hey @kaylaybanez! In order to use automation, you would need to keep your account Business for the time being. But you can definitely try switching and then switching back just to try it out :)

Hi there,

I'm trying to connect my TikTok account to ManyChat, but I keep getting the message that it needs to be a business account — even though I've already switched it to a business account a long time ago.

I’ve double-checked everything:

• My TikTok account is set as a Business account.

• I’ve disabled all auto-reply and automation settings in TikTok Business Suite.

• I’ve tried refreshing permissions and even disconnecting and reconnecting the account.

• Still, ManyChat keeps recognizing it as a personal account, and won’t let me sync TikTok.

Is there a way to force ManyChat to recheck the account type or manually validate it?
I really need to complete the integration. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
