Free Account: Welcome / Automated Message for new followers isn't sending

Hi everyone,

I’m using a ManyChat Free account, but I’m having an issue with my automated welcome message (sending a greeting and a discount code to new followers). Even though I've set up the automation, no messages are being sent out.

Here is what I’ve already tried:

  • Checked the connection status

  • Reconnected my account

  • Deleted and recreated the automation flow

  • Checked my limits (I still have 24 contacts left in my free limit)

Has anyone experienced this issue before or knows how to fix it? I’d really appreciate any help!

    The "Say hi to new followers" (Follow to DM) trigger is currently in beta on Meta's side, and because Meta controls eligibility and the triggers directly, it has been experiencing some instability across many accounts.

    A few important points to keep in mind regarding this feature:

    • Existing Contacts: If a user was already in your contacts list before following you (for instance, if they interacted with a comment-to-DM or story reply in the past), the follow trigger won't send them a message to avoid sending duplicate DMs.

    • Meta Rate Limits: Meta limits this trigger so that a single user can only receive one follow-to-DM message per week across accounts.

     

    Since the follow trigger can be inconsistent while in beta, using automations based on comments (Comment to DM), story replies, or icebreakers is currently the most reliable way to deliver welcome messages and discount codes.
