Question on a workaround or way forward for triggering two automations together

tarakeenes

Hi! I have a live automation, “Follow first, then freebie,” with the trigger “User comments on any Post or Reel.” It checks if the person follows me, then sends a freebie.

I also have older automations with keyword comment triggers on specific posts (for example, the keyword “secret”).

When someone comments “secret,” they only get the secret specific automation’s message. The “any comment” automation doesn’t run for them - which is the follow first then freebie.

Is there a way to make the follow check run without editing every other automations?

Hi @tarakeenes!

When there are conflicting comment triggers, Manychat will only run one automation per comment rather than triggering both at the same time. Because of that, your specific keyword automation takes over and prevents the general "any post" trigger from running. Unfortunately, there is no direct setting to make both run independently from a single comment without adjusting your setup.

A practical workaround is to call the second automation from inside the first one. For example, at the end of your "secret" keyword automation, you can add a "Start Automation" action to trigger your "Follow first, then freebie" automation.

You will likely need to tweak and separate parts of both automations so they connect smoothly, but chaining them together this way should get you the result you need.

Hope this helps! 🙌
