What is considered a "good" CTR?

Manychat has amazing CTR compared to other tools, but what sort of percentages are you getting and what are you aiming for? So far I’ve gotten as low as the 40s and as high as the 80s on different flows. Looking for some insight into what you guys are aiming for as I tinker.

Hi @Kdelloro - so CTRs will vary depending on what the objective of your flow is and who the audience is. But great that you’re already seeing the higher CTR compared to other tools! To give you a little perspective from what I see with clients is that if the audience is typically B2B the CTR is “in general” quite high. My clients will normally range about 80-90% CTR. These people are online during the day and less distracted. On the other hand, I recently worked with a baby sleep coach and the CTR was more 55-60% - as the audience here was new parents who were online at random times and easily distracted! However, despite the lower CTR, the volume of people coming through the flow, and opting in within the flow, meant her daily leads into her business were WAY up on her previous flows, where she was only sending a link in the DMs. If you’re looking to increase CTRs you can always use the Randomiser function to split test different copy versions? Hope that helps. Mel

Hey @Kdelloro Let me add a bit to this…

You should look at CTR as something that you’re optimizing constantly - since higher CTR = more people get to the end of your funnel = more sales!

In a multi-step automation, I’ll look at the CTRs on each step and look for ‘where we’re losing people’ (this is where I have the worst CTR).

That’s the first place to optimize!

Can I optimize the copy? Can I add a follow-up? Or two follow-ups? Can I make it shorter/longer/snappier/friendlier etc?

As @Mel E says, this is the place to use the Randomizer block and run A/B tests.

For example…

We’ve seen copy tweaks improve CTRs from 40%’s to 80%’s in one go.

Adding smart follow-ups will consistently get you at least a 10%+ bump from interested people who got distracted and appreciate the reminder.

Adding audio, an image, or a short video can also have a significant impact on CTRs.

And think of it as a game.

Every week, take a peek at your automations and ask yourself: where am I losing people?

That’s the next place you need to optimize!

Thank you for your comments, I actually didn’t know there was an a/b test function! I’ll definitely be looking into that.
