Question

Active contacts not decreasing after deletion – is this a system change or a bug?

Hi,

In almost all the content I’ve seen online (YouTube videos, blog posts, tutorials), it is clearly stated that deleting contacts should reduce the number of active contacts used for billing.

However, in my case, this is not happening:

  • I deleted contacts from my list

  • But the number of active contacts used for billing does NOT decrease

So my question is very simple:

👉 Is this a recent system change in ManyChat?
👉 Or is there something wrong with my account?

Because right now, my experience directly contradicts all publicly available information.

Would appreciate a clear answer. Thanks.

@yatirimlikevler Manychat is changing pricing, and in your case, it looks like you’re in the new pricing.

In the new pricing, what counts are active contacts, not total contacts.

Here are more details: https://manychat.com/pricing

So in the new pricing, deleting contacts no longer makes sense, nor does it reflect against your billing.

Hope this helps!

Hi @yatirimlikevler! As Gustavo mentioned we’ve introduced new pricing update for multiple countries and active contacts are part of the plan right now. You can check the plans and what each tier includes here: https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/25800347122716-Manychat-subscription-How-to-choose-the-right-one-for-you

Thanks for the clarification.

But I have to be very direct here.

I made my purchase decision based on widely available information (YouTube videos, blog posts, tutorials), which consistently stated that deleting contacts would reduce the active contact count for billing.

With the current logic, this is clearly not the case anymore — and this creates a serious mismatch between user expectations and actual product behavior.

From a user perspective, this feels misleading.

I’m running a social media operation that can exceed 25,000+ active contacts per month, and under this model, even your highest plan is not sufficient for my scale.

More importantly, this pricing logic makes it nearly impossible to control costs once contacts have interacted, which is a major limitation for any business trying to scale.

Because of this, I have decided to cancel my subscription and started evaluating alternative solutions.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously.
