Active Contacts shows 500 while Total Contacts is only 56. Instagram automations stopped.

The number you're seeing is active contacts for the billing cycle, not your current stored contacts. It counts everyone who interacted with your account since your cycle started, and it keeps counting them even after you delete them, which is why your total shows 56 but active stays locked at 500. Deleting doesn't free up slots, it's a known thing.

There's no manual reset and no way to start the cycle early. It only zeroes on your renewal date. The two things that actually unblock you before then: upgrade to a higher active-contact tier, which takes effect immediately, or if your plan supports pay-per-contact overage, enable it so automations keep running past the cap. Support won't reset the counter by hand.

Worth knowing for next cycle: since your automations are what pull those contacts in, you'll hit whatever cap you're on again, so it helps to size the plan to how many new contacts your automations actually bring in per month.
