Hello! I am trying to set up the “Auto-DM links from comments” for IG, when I selected “comments on a specific post or reel” from the dropdown menu, “You haven’t posted anything yet!” appears even though I have posts/ reels on my IG account. Would appreciate some help, thank you!

Step 1: Refresh permissions in ManyChat

This is the most common and effective solution for resyncing your account data.

  1. Navigate to your Settings in ManyChat.
  2. Go to Instagram.
  3. Click the Refresh permissions button. This will prompt you to reconnect to Facebook and refresh all account data. Follow the steps, granting all requested permissions.
  4. Wait a few minutes for ManyChat to fetch your data, and then recheck the automation.

Step 2: Check permissions in Meta Business Integrations

You may have to manually grant ManyChat access on Facebook, as ManyChat's refresh button can sometimes miss a setting.

  1. Go to your personal Facebook profile, then navigate to Settings & privacy > Settings > Business Integrations.
  2. Find ManyChat in your list of integrations and click View and edit.
  3. Ensure that all permissions are toggled on, especially for the Instagram account and linked Facebook Page you are using.
  4. Toggle a few permissions off and on again to force a reset.

Step 3: Verify Instagram message access

Confirm that your Instagram profile is allowing connected tools, like ManyChat, to access messages.

  1. On the Instagram mobile app, go to Settings and activity.
  2. Tap on Messages and story replies.
  3. Go to Message controls and then Connected tools.
  4. Make sure the Allow access to messages toggle is turned on.

Step 4: Check your account type and page connection

ManyChat for Instagram only works for Professional accounts (either Creator or Business). It also requires that the Instagram account is connected to a Facebook Business Page that you manage.

  1. Check your Instagram account type: On the Instagram app, go to your profile, tap the three-line menu, and select Settings and privacy > Creator tools and controls or Business tools and controls. Confirm your account is set to "Professional."
  2. Check your Facebook page link: Make sure your Professional Instagram account is correctly linked to the Facebook Business Page where you have admin access. You can check this in the Meta Business Suite

Step 5: Troubleshoot specific post issues

If the problem persists, the issue could be with the specific post or reel you are trying to select.

  • Collaboration Posts: ManyChat automations do not work if your account is a collaborator, and you are not the original poster.
  • Boosted Posts: The automation may not trigger for boosted posts (Instagram Ads) even if your automation is set to "all posts". Create a standard, unboosted post to test your automation.
