Automated message won't stop

I set up an automated message on ManyChat, and it started sending it to every person who messages me on IG - every time.  It is too much, of course.  I tried to delete the message and it didn’t work.  I have also disconnected the account and tried every possible way to stop it, and the message still sends every time.  I have no idea what to do about it - does anyone have an answer to this?

A screenshot of your active automations would help pin this down, but based on "sends to everyone every time and survives disconnecting," two usual suspects

1. It's a Default Reply, not a keyword trigger. The Default Reply fires on every incoming DM by design, so if you deleted a different flow it'll keep going. In Automation or settings, look for anything set as Default Reply or a flow with a "message received" default trigger, and pause that one specifically.

2. If it genuinely keeps sending even while ManyChat is disconnected, it may not be ManyChat at all. Both Instagram and Meta Business Suite have their own native auto-replies (Instant reply / Away message). Check Meta Business Suite, Inbox, Automations, plus your IG app business settings, in case one is toggled on there. Those fire completely independently of any tool.

Post a screenshot of your active automations and I'll tell you which one it is.

Hi @scottyb2026 this is what I think might be happenning:

  1. You have active a Default Replay, so every time a user writtes you, they are getting a response. Check on Settings -- > Channels → Default Replay (if it is active just turn it off)
  2. Your facebook business account has a default replay, so this message is not comming from Manychat but from Meta. Just your templates in Meta.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!
