Automation suddenly stopped working on one of recent post

I published a post yesterday and set up a ManyChat automation so that when someone comments with a specific keyword, they should receive a DM and a public reply on the Post .

However, I checked earlier today and the automation isn’t firing. There were two additional people who commented with the keyword, but they didn’t receive either the DM or the public reply.

I’ve already tried:

  • Refreshing permissions

  • Creating a new copy of the automation

  • Logging out and back in

  • Confirming the automation is live

None of these have fixed the issue. Has anyone experienced this before or knows what else I can check? I have already submit the support ticket and they’re not getting back to me!!

I literally came here to post the exact same thing! I created a new automation yesterday, it worked for the first 3 replies, and after that it stopped working… It’s a brand new automation. Did something happen with ManyChat in the last 24 hours? Did it go down?

Hi @AmyReverseMe ,
I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with your IG Comment Trigger — I know how frustrating this can be.

While support gets back to you, here are a few things I’d recommend double-checking:

  1. Instagram permissions
You already mentioned you refreshed permissions, which is usually a quick fix, but since it didn’t work in your case, we can rule that out for now.

  2. Follow the official IG automation troubleshooting guide
This step-by-step guide covers several edge cases that can cause comment automations to stop firing and is very helpful for diagnosing issues like this:
    https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/14281308423452-Instagram-automation-troubleshooting

  3. Check for platform-wide issues
Sometimes this is related to a temporary issue on Instagram or ManyChat’s side. You can check the current system status here:
    https://status.manychat.com/

  4. One-time trigger behavior
Just as a reminder, Instagram comment automations only trigger once per user per post. If the same user commented again, the automation would not fire a second time.

Hopefully one of these points helps you pinpoint the issue while waiting for support.

Cheers,
Catalina R.
