Hello ManyChat Team,

I hope you’re doing well.

I recently subscribed to the Pro plan ($15/month), but I noticed that my latest invoice was over $60. I understand that the price may vary based on the number of contacts, but I would like some clarification on how this is calculated.

  • Which contacts are counted in the billing?
  • Is it based on followers, clicks, or the number of automation messages sent?
  • How exactly is the cost determined as contacts increase?

Also, I have another question regarding automations. According to the plan description, automations should work on Facebook and TikTok, in addition to Instagram. However, in my case, the automation only seems to function on Instagram. Could you please let me know how to properly activate or connect automations for Facebook and TikTok?

Thank you for your help and support.

Warm regards,

Eliane Jean-Claude

Hi, @Eliane JC!

Manychat billing is calculated for the number of contacts you have in your account. The pricing may vary if you upgrade to another contact tier between invoices. Here you find more info about that: Understanding Manychat Pro pricing table and invoice structure

In a nutshell, a Manychat Contact is created once someone interacts with your profile, and it turns into a DM. And this happens if they're using keywords in your post comments or if they send you any kind of DM (in this case, a contact is created even if no keyword is used).

So, if someone...

  • comments on your post and don't use a Keyword = NO Contact created
  • likes, saves or shares your post/ story = NO Contact created
  • comments a keyword in some post = Contact created
  • sends you a DM (with or without a keyword) = Contact created
  • responds to your story = Contact created

You just need to remember: if something triggers any automation and/or interacts with you via DM = Contact created!

For Facebook and Tiktok, you'll need to connect these channels to your Manychat account as well (similar to IG).

Once you have the new channels connected, you need to create separated automations to each one or convert existing automations to the new channels.

Hope this helps! 🙌
