Automations Not Working After Following All Steps

I’ve been following the steps of the AI Chat Bot for hours and my Facebook and Instagram automations are still not working. I’ve also searched and worked through many of the old posts. The bot won’t connect me with an agent. I am more than willing to pay for ManyChat if it works!! Please help!!

I can understand how frustrating it is to deal with this kind of situation, especially after you have already tried everything to fix it (also had similar cases in the past). Since you have already gone through all the troubleshooting steps and the issue persists, the best approach now is to have this investigated more deeply. This is almost always config, not you. A couple of usual culprits.

Two things kill Instagram automations silently: the account has to be a Professional account (Creator or Business), and the "Allow access to messages" toggle has to be on.

It's in the Instagram app under Settings and activity, Messages and story replies, Message controls, Connected tools. ManyChat shows as "Connected" even when that toggle is off, but nothing fires until you flip it. Trips up a ton of people.

For the bot not handing off to an agent, that's the Handover Protocol. On Facebook go to Settings and privacy, Page setup, Advanced messaging, Handover protocol, and set ManyChat as the primary receiver. While you're there, make sure no other connected app has "take control of conversation" turned on, that's usually what eats the handoff.

Last thing, open the automation and hit Set Live, it'll flag in red anything still blocking it. Still dead after that, hit Refresh permissions under the Help button.

It is impossible to get an agent. The chat started to take me there and stopped. It went back to all of the steps I’ve already done. I’m guessing this is because I haven’t paid yet. I’m on paid plan but still in the free trial. This is beyond frustrating and not giving me any faith in being a ManyChat customer. I run a business and this is not the way I would want my customers to feel.

It should work, even in the trial period… but maybe it’s different with the AI tools.
