I have automations set up for Instagram to simply send a link via DM when someone uses a specific keyword in the comments on a post. I make sure to chose unique keywords so that an automation won’t be sent in response to unrelated comments. However the ManyChat bot just responded to an IG comment that didn’t use the keyword associated with that automation, or anything even remotely like the keyword, and I can’t figure out why. I can’t see anything in my settings that might be causing this, but maybe I’m missing something. Has anyone else experienced this? If the bot can be activated randomly, I can’t use this service.

Can u please invite me to ur bot to let me check myself?

Thanks for offering, but I think I just figured it out. The keyword that triggered the automation - ALUA - was used when someone left a comment that included the word “invaluable”. ALUA is a person’s name and it hadn’t occurred to me that the same letters occurring inside an entirely different word could activate the bot. It’s unfortunate, but at least it means the bot wasn’t activating at random.

Thank u for letting know that ur problem is SOLVED !
