I connected my Instagram account to Manychat solely to automate DMs when someone comments a specific keyword on a post. Only two people have interacted with that automation, but my account now shows 25 active contacts and my automations have stopped. I use Instagram DMs regularly for personal business conversations. Are those conversations automatically counted as active contacts? Is there a way to prevent regular Instagram conversations from counting toward my Free plan limit? Also, if I delete or unsubscribe contacts, will that restore my automation allowance immediately or only after the billing period resets? Any insight is appreciated.

The Free plan includes 25 active contacts per month. A contact can count when they interact with you through Manychat, including by DM. It isn’t limited to people who used that one comment automation. The count resets at the start of your billing cycle.
