Building a database?

Hi there!

New to Many Chat and trying to figure it out (from someone who is a technologically challenged!).

I manage an accommodation business, and I’d like to build a database of emails from people who either sign up, or who have stayed with us and opted to sign up, so I can send them newsletters and offers in the future.

I’d like to run a giveaway competition on Insta and Facebook to build interest and get people to sign up this way.

I’ve no idea how to do this on Many Chat, and then when people do sign up, where do their email addresses go?  How do I store them and use them (legally?) without breaching anyone’s data?

Many thanks in advance, I have zero idea what I am doing here……!!

    ​@Mangamaunu.retreat You can start with an automation like this: 

    The emails will be stored in Manychat fields. And then you can either use Manychat directly to send emails or you can connect Manychat to your email marketing platform (and send emails through your email marketing platform).

      Yes! you can use Manychat for that.

      Simple Steps:

      • create a flow for your Instagram/Facebook giveaway

      • ask people for their email

      • save it in Manychat’s Email field or a custom field

      • only send newsletters/offers to people who clearly agreed to receive them

      Where the emails go:
      They are stored on the contact inside Manychat, and you can later export them or send them to your email platform.

      Best way to do it legally:
      Ask separately for marketing consent, for example:
      “Enter your email to join the giveaway. If you also want future offers and newsletters, please confirm that too.”

      So the basic setup is:

      1. giveaway post/ad

      2. Manychat flow

      3. collect email

      4. save email

      5. tag people like “Giveaway” or “Newsletter Opt-in”

      That’s the easiest clean setup.

        Thank you both for your help and answers.  I have a further question.  Both answers mentioned my email marketing platform / or email platform.

         

        What is this?  Isn’t Many Chat an email marketing platform?  Would I send newsletters (and offers) etc through Many Chat?
