Can't connect Facebook with MAnychat

Hey everyone! đź‘‹
I connected ManyChat to both Instagram and Facebook. It works perfectly on Instagram, but it’s not working on Facebook.

I’ve already:

  • Granted all permissions in ManyChat
  • Confirmed I’m the owner/admin of the Facebook page

Still, comment-to-DM automation doesn’t trigger.

I’m based in Bolivia — could this be a regional restriction from Meta?

Has anyone experienced this or found a solution? 🙏

Hey @Martin Blacutt follow these steps here:

If you still have issues, record a video of the problem you’re having and send it over to support so they can investigate.

Hope this helps!

Just saw your video, think I spotted it. All your trigger options are showing Instagram icons (Post or Reel Comments, Story Reply, Instagram Message) so that automation is Instagram-only, which is why it works on IG but doesn't fire on your Facebook comments.

You'll need to add a Facebook-specific comment trigger. In ManyChat, comment triggers are channel-specific, so the Instagram one won't carry over. Either add a new Facebook trigger to the same flow or build a separate automation with Facebook Messenger as the channel. Then make sure it's Set Live. Hope this helps!

Hello, I don’t think that’s the solution. When I try to add a new trigger, I don’t see any Messenger or Facebook options—only Instagram. I’ve attached an image for reference.

Your automation is a ManyChat "Quick Automation" (the Auto-DM links from comments template), which is Instagram-only. You can't add Facebook or Messenger triggers to it, that's why you only see IG options.

To set this up for Facebook, create a new automation from scratch instead:

1. Automation tab → + New Automation → Start from Scratch

2. In the Flow Builder, click + New Trigger. You'll see Messenger options alongside Instagram.

3. Build the Facebook version of your comment-to-DM flow there, set it live.

Quick Automations are the fast path but they're locked to IG. A blank flow is the only way to use Facebook triggers.

Hi, I was able to connect Facebook and Instagram — thanks for your support, everything is working really well.

However, I’m facing an issue with the contact limit. My plan only allows around 2,000 contacts, but after posting on Facebook and Instagram, I quickly exceeded that and now have over 8,000. I’ve been deleting contacts constantly, which is not practical. It would make more sense to have a higher or unlimited contact limit, especially since I’m on an annual plan.

Also, I’m having trouble connecting TikTok. I can’t use the “user sends message” trigger or send DMs automatically with links or information. Is this feature available, or am I missing something?

Thanks again for your help!

@Martin Blacutt Check out the pricing page: https://manychat.com/pricing

You can upgrade, and if you need more in a specific month and don’t want to upgrade Manychat will charge you overage.

In the new pricing plan, each active contact is what counts, so it doesn’t make sense to delete contacts from Manychat.

Hope this helps!
