Commenting to comments without sending DM

Hi community!

I am having trouble publishing my automation.

All I am looking to do is respond in an appropriate manner to someone in the comments of my content after they have said something simple like, “hi”, “hey”, or “hello”.

It keeps asking me to set up one more step even afer I have left my 3 variations of responses in the automation.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Laura

@LauraHernandez.Official perfect.

Add a condition between the trigger and the ‘Welcome Node’.

And ta-da, that should do it!

Hey @LauraHernandez.Official can you share a screenshot of your automations?

What I usually do when I want this behavior is adding a condition on the first step, and then the message only sends if the condition is true. And I make sure that the condition won’t be true for anyone!

For example, I create a new ‘Dummy Tag’ and I only send the message if the contact has the ‘Dummy Tag’.

Since nobody has it, the message never gets sent, but the comment reply still triggers!

Hope this helps!

Hi @Gustavo Boregio ! Thanks for your reply.

I only want to send a message in the comments, not in the DMs.

These are the screenshots I think may be helpful to show what I’m seeing.

In the first pic on the left, I have already input 3 public replies in can vary through.

In the 2nd pic, this is the chatbots suggestion, but I still didn’t quite follow,

and in the 3rd pic, you can see on the right that the welcome node I had to add in order to publish still sends this message (yes, I can change the message, but I don’t want the DM to go through at all).

Thank you for your help!

Laura

@Gustavo Boregio I have been trying this now, and it does not seem to work for me…
My comments don’t get posted, but it registers runs on my automation.
