Hey everyone,

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been building a waitlist for my ebook launch. Now I have several hundred contacts tagged as “waitlist,” and I want to send them a DM on Instagram with the purchase link. This seems like it should be a straightforward process, but I haven’t been able to get it to work.

Here’s what I’ve tried: I set up a sequence to automatically send a DM to contacts subscribed to it. Then, I subscribed the tagged contacts to the sequence, but nothing happened. Only 2 random contacts received the DM, and I have no idea why.

Is this the right approach? Or is there a simpler way to do this that I might be missing?

​@Wioletta unfortunately you won't be able to contact them through Manychat.

Meta has a 24 hours rule in Instagram, which means you can only message your contacts within 24 hours of their last interaciton.

The 2 random contacts who got the messages where the ones who had recent interactions.

 

It's always a good idea to get emails and/or phone number to make sure you can keep in touch with your contacts, even if the 24 hours window expires. Manychat makes it easy to do that through the Data Collections steps (and you can even use Manychat's email and SMS system).
