How can I set up the automation for “Say hi to new followers” in Manychat for this scenario?

When a new follower followed me - I want to send them an instant message but WITHOUT any CTA.

Right now, this feature requires a CTA to set this LIVE. But I don’t want that.

I’ve seen someone has managed to do it but I can’t seem to properly set it up.

Can someone help?

Thanks!

Hi, @JW1334!

There is one simple way to do it:

  • If you already have and automation created click on the three dots at the top of the page and select "Switch to Flow Builder”. This will open the automation in the classic flow builder and you will be able to change the first message as you wish:

Hope this helps!

Right now, ManyChat requires a CTA/button for Say Hi to New Followers.
So if you want to make it Live, you usually need at least one button / quick reply in that first message.

So the simple answer is:

No CTA = usually not possible for this feature right now.

Easy workaround:

  • add one simple button like “Hi” or “Thanks”
  • keep the message very short
  • then continue the flow after that button click

Also make sure:

  • your account is eligible for Follow to DM [BETA]
  • your Instagram was connected through the new Unified Instagram onboarding flow.

So if you saw someone do it without a CTA, it was likely either:

  • an older setup
  • a different flow type
  • or they still had a very small hidden/simple CTA in place.
