Unfortunately, the DM to New Followers has currently some bugs at Meta’s side.
This is probably the issue causing your problem…
Even people that got the connection working as expected are having trouble with the feature (You can even check some issues at Manychat Status page = https://status.manychat.com/)
I’ve heard about some people that got the connection working after changes Instagram’s password. But there’s no guarantee at all that anything could work at the moment.
