Facebook FAQ triggers Meta AI instead of ManyChat Flow

Hi everyone, I need some help with a Facebook Messenger + ManyChat issue.

I have already set ManyChat as the default Messenger app and handed over the conversation control to ManyChat.

However, when users click my Facebook Page’s built-in FAQ, @Meta AI still appears and my ManyChat Flow is not triggered.

Has anyone experienced the same issue before?

Does Facebook’s built-in FAQ bypass ManyChat even when ManyChat has full Messenger control?

If yes, what is the best practice? Should I completely remove Facebook FAQ and rebuild the FAQ-style questions using ManyChat Buttons or Quick Replies instead?

Appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Hey @Wills yes I’ve seen this with a couple of clients over the last few weeks, where Meta just turns on their AI and automations and bypasses Manychat.

The way I solved this is by going to Meta and turning off all and every option they had for automations, AI, etc.

After that make sure conversation routing is properly setup (https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/23233550014108-Conversation-Routing-for-Facebook-Messenger) and just in case, refresh permissions in Manychat.

That did the trick for our clients.

Thanks for your reply!

I actually went through all of those steps already:

  • Turned off all Meta automations and AI-related features that I could find
  • Confirmed ManyChat is the Primary Receiver in Conversation Routing
  • Refreshed permissions in ManyChat

Unfortunately, the issue still persists. 😕

The strange part is that it only happens in the Messenger app. On Messenger Web and Facebook Bubbles, everything works perfectly.

Has anyone else experienced this specifically on Android Messenger?
