FB Messages arriving in Spam - any way to fix it?

Hi, I’ve set up a new automation for FB comments - it’s really simple - someone comments, they get a like, a comment and a message.

The problem is, the messages are going into Spam, which is not easy to find on FB and friction I’d rather not have.

I’ve tried both with a conversation starter message (press the button to get the next message) and with just one message with the link. Same thing.

If anyone has any ideas of how to fix this I’d really appreciate it, I can see myself sending lots of manual messages to deal with it, which defeats the purpose!

Thanks

Honest version first: this isn't a ManyChat bug, and there's no setting that fully fixes it. FB routes first-contact messages from a page someone hasn't interacted with into their message requests / filtered folder, and Meta's spam algorithm plus the recipient's own privacy settings decide that, not you. So you can lower it, but you can't guarantee the main inbox on the first message.

What actually helps:

1. Your biggest lever is the PUBLIC comment reply, not the DM. Add a line like "Just sent you a DM, check your message requests folder if it's not in your main chats." That fixes the real friction, which is that people don't know to look there.

2. Design the first message to earn a reply instead of leading with the link. Ask them to reply, tap the button, whatever. The moment they reply once, the thread moves to their main inbox and everything after that lands normally. So treat message one as "get the reply," not "deliver the link."

3. Keep that first message clean: no link, no "click here," no urgent salesy wording. You already saw the link version gets filtered. Clean ones can still get filtered on first contact, but it lowers the odds.

You won't get it to zero in the requests folder, that part is Meta. But between telling them where to look and designing for a reply first, you can turn most of these into main-inbox threads. Happy to share the exact first-message wording that's worked best for me if you want to DM me.
