First name variable not working on the New follower automation

Hey ​@josip856 your setup looks correct.

However, some people do not have their names setup in Instagram, so Manychat will not receive this information.

You have 2 options here:

1. Ask the person using a Data Collection block
2. Or have a default that shows when First Name is empty (something like ‘hey friend’)

That lead does have a name set, i know that because i do get their first name through API. 

Is the real reason that because they didnt send us any message yet that they are not “subscriber” , they are still just a “visitor”?

​@josip856 yes that’s possible.

Meta decides what information they send and when. So it may be the case that they’re just not sending the First Name anymore when they become a visitor.

I’ll report this to Manychat’s team. If you can, also open a ticket with them.
