Help Needed: Rules vs Sequences for Daily WhatsApp Reminders

I am building a WhatsApp bot to collect customer information and send two daily reminder messages at 8 AM and 8 PM. The flow works until the reminder stage. I am using Meta templates and have set up rules with tags to trigger the messages. During testing, the evening message came through but the morning message did not. I am unsure whether to use rules or sequences to send two messages every day at specific times.

Any advice on what might be causing the morning message not to trigger would be appreciated.

Hi ​@samar  For daily WhatsApp reminders using Meta templates, here are some key points to check:

Template Requirements:

  • Make sure both your 8 AM and 8 PM messages use approved WhatsApp message templates
  • Templates must be in the 'Utility' category for reminder messages
  • Verify both templates are approved and active in your Manychat settings

Troubleshooting the Morning Message:

  • Check if your morning rule has the correct time zone settings 
  • Ensure the tag conditions are identical for both rules
  • Verify the contact is within the 24-hour messaging window or using proper templates

Rules vs Sequences:

For daily recurring reminders, Rules work better than Sequences since they can trigger repeatedly based on conditions like time and tags.

Double-check your morning rule's trigger conditions and make sure the template is properly selected. The evening working but not morning suggests a configuration difference between the two rules.
