How can I add a delay before Instagram comment auto-DMs in ManyChat?

Hi everyone 👋

I’m setting up Instagram comment-to-DM automations for my brand using ManyChat.

I noticed that when I use the default Instagram Comments template, the DM gets sent instantly and I can’t seem to add a delay, typing simulation, or random wait times before the first message.

However, when I create the automation using “Build From Scratch”, I’m able to add:

• Delay

• Smart Delay

• Typing simulation

• Randomizer flows

Is this limitation normal for template-based comment automations?

My goal is to make the automation feel more human and natural instead of sending an instant bot-like reply.

Ideally I want something like:
Comment Trigger → Random Delay → Typing → DM

Would love to know how you guys handle this 🙌
