Hello,

How can I send a dm to all my followers? Or to all the people I've interacted with via manychat automations?

Hello @fcollective_ ,

You can only send messages within a 24-hour window after your followers interact with you.
Unfortunately, on the Instagram channel, it's not allowed to send messages after this time frame.

What you should do is collect contact information—such as WhatsApp or email—at the moment of the first interaction. This way, you can follow up through those channels at any time.

Here is a help article from Manychat that explains the rules in more detail:

Hi, @fcollective_

In a nutshell… you can't.

It's a Meta policy that you just can send automated messages/ broadcasts within messaging windows.

More info here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/policy/policy-overview

A long time ago it was possible to get access to a IG DM List, that your contacts had to opt-in to receive messages outside the message window. But Meta has put that on hold more than a year ago…

In other words, you just can automate messages to contacts that interacted with you via DM in the last 24h.

Hi @fcollective_   Unfortunately, you can’t send messages directly to all your IG followers. However, here’s the trick: you can redirect traffic from IG Ads or IG posts to your Facebook Messenger channel and invite people to subscribe to notifications there.
Once they’re subscribed, that’s when the magic happens — you can segment your audience and send regular push notifications, with an impressive average open rate of around 50%!

Hope this helps, Cata R.

Hello, I'm reopening this conversation because here's an example of someone who (I think) sends this message to all his followers without interaction within 24 hours it seems...How it’s possible ?

Hi, @fcollective_!

More than a year ago, Manychat got a beta test for Instagram DM Lists (just like with Messenger). But for some reason it was put on hold and never came back again.

And she's one of the lucky accounts that got access to that. Unfortunately, there's no information if it will come back someday.

Here's an old article talking about this, but you will see that the applying page now just redirects to your Manychat account: https://manychat.com/blog/how-to-broadcast-in-instagram/
