How do I have 800 subscribers when the one story I automated only had 200 views? And the story is no longer available and only seven people actually responded with the trigger word?

Hey, @famtravelfolio

When you connect your Instagram/Facebook account to Manychat, everyone that sends you a message opted in.

Example: An user sends you a message through Instagram (without a trigger keyword). They opted-in on Instagram channel and your Manychat account got one subscriber.

Please, read this help center guide to help you to understand how this works: https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/14281110746012-Contacts-tab-Overview

Hi @famtravelfolio ,
You can review all your subscribers by going to the Contacts menu. You can also unsubscribe them at any time. A screenshot is attached below.

It says I can only unsubscribe on a paid plan. I don’t understand how the free plan works to test things out for a small creator if 7 replies turns into 800 subscribers. It doesn’t make me want to jump onto a paid plan at all if I’ll have to delete random subscribers who didn’t even interact with my trigger word.

Perhaps I’m not understanding exactly how ManyChat can still add subscribers when I have no automation active? Or maybe you can direct me to a resource page that explains a setting I have wrong? I can’t seem to find an explanation.

Thanks. I see it also imports users than message me under “requests”. is there any way to remove this? These are usually spam etc.

Thank you! This is helpful.

although I was hoping there was a way to only have contacts added if they interact with a ManyChat funnel as I don’t have need of everyone DMing me to be tagged & filtered.

@famtravelfolio There is no workaround in the free plan.
If you had the PRO plan, you could use tags and conditions to automatically delete contacts.

Are you using the free or pro plan?
