How to trigger Comment Automation on specific Ads Manager (Dark) Posts?

Hello Manychaters,

I need help setting up the "Instagram Comment Automation" (Auto-DM) for specific ads created directly in Meta Ads Manager.

The problem: These are Dark Posts, so they do not appear on my main Instagram profile feed. Consequently, I cannot find them in the "Select Publication" list in ManyChat triggers.

My constraint: I cannot use the "Any Post" trigger because I am promoting multiple different offers simultaneously (Summer Camps, Weekend Tours, etc.), and I need to send a different specific flow for each ad.

The question: Is there a way to connect a specific Flow to a specific Ad Post ID manually? Or is the only solution to use "Any Post" combined with unique keywords for each ad creative?

Hi ​@Pasha ,  I think you are right, dark posts created in Meta Ads Manager cannot be connected to a specific flow using the “Instagram Comment” trigger, since they don’t appear in your IG feed.

However, you can try to Use the “Partner App” trigger instead

i.e You can create a separate flow for each ad, and inside each flow generated an Instagram Ad Trigger.

Then, when creating your ad in Meta Ads Manager:

  1. Select “Send Instagram Message” as your CTA.

  2. In the Message Template section, choose “Partner App” (Don´t use the template option)

  3. Meta in the Parter App will show you the list of Manychat Triggers you created — just select the one that corresponds to that specific ad.

This allows you to link each add to a different automation and do the tracking, even if they're post that are not visible on your IG profile.

          You can build a simple flow for this. For example, when someone comments TOUR, ManyChat can automatically send them a DM, ask a few qualifying questions, and then share the URL to your site.

          You can include the website link in different ways:

          • with a button that redirects them to your site

          • or with a card, if you’d like to show a property photo and add the link there

          That way, you can both generate leads inside ManyChat and drive traffic to your website.

I don’t see an option anywhere on Manychat to be able to set up a flow like this for those types of ads. I’d love to hop on a call if someone from the team is willing to help me get this flow right so that I can make the most of my Pro account and make sure I’m using the tool correctly! Thank you!

            You can achieve this by using Facebook and IG Ads Triggers, you have to set this up when you are creating your Ads in Meta.

            Hi ​@GraceTamburro Like ​@cata_rendon said, that's definitely the way to go,  for IG + FB combined placements it's worth setting up separate triggers per channel. User behavior differs enough that it affects how the flow converts, so it pays off to get that right from the start. At Dominari AI we set up flows like this all the time.
