Hello everyone,

I'm having an issue with my ManyChat Instagram automation, and I'm hoping someone here can help.

I've connected my Instagram to ManyChat and set up an automation sequence with an Instagram Ref URL trigger. However, the automated messages are not sending. I've double-checked and refreshed all my connections multiple times within ManyChat.

I suspect the problem lies with the "Handover Protocol" settings on my Facebook page. In the Facebook page settings, under "App Settings" > "Handover Protocol," I'm unable to switch the "Instagram Receiver" to ManyChat, as is shown in the ManyChat instructions. Facebook simply doesn't allow me to make this change.

Could this be why my messages aren't being delivered automatically? Has anyone encountered this specific issue, and if so, how did you resolve it?

Any guidance or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!

This issue with the Handover Protocol is normally associated to Manychat accounts that connected the IG channel just via the IG login, instead of connecting it via Meta Business Suite.

 

You can remove and reconnect your IG Channel via Meta Business Suite, but that will also remove all your Manychat contacts.

If there's no problem with that, just remove your IG account and add it again, but now with the MBS option.
