Yes, it is possible to customize the Opt-out message. To do this, go to Settings, select the WhatsApp channel, and navigate to the Opt-out Automation tab. Then, press the Edit button, which will take you to the automation that is sent to the user when they type the word "opt-out". You can edit the message as needed and then publish it.

The default opt-out automation does not completely delete the user. It only unsubscribes them, which means this contact is no longer part of your paid plan and will not be able to receive your automations. However, if the contact returns in the future, any saved information, such as tags, will still be available.

Optionally, you can edit your opt-out automation and add a step to permanently delete the user if you wish.

Once the user activates the opt-out automation, you will no longer be able to send messages to them. The conversation must be re-initiated by the user. Therefore, you will need to reach out through other channels, such as email or social media, encouraging the user to send you a new message on WhatsApp.

To permanently delete a user through your opt-out automation, follow this path:

Settings > WhatsApp Channel > "Opt-out Automation" tab > Edit (this will open your opt-out automation).

In the last existing block > Add Action Block >
Under Contact Data, select Delete Contact >
Then, Publish the automation.

When publishing, ManyChat will ask you to type a confirmation word (e.g., delete) to confirm that you really want to delete a contact in this flow.
