After removing Manychat permissions from Facebook / IG and re-connecting I am still getting the error “post not found / lost connection”.

Old automations are still working - I cannot edit them though.

New automations are NOT working at all. What else can I do to fix this? Delete Manychat entirely? I’m scared I will lose all the automations I have built.

Breathe, you won't lose your automations. The flows you built live inside your ManyChat account, not on Meta, so disconnecting and reconnecting the Instagram link doesn't delete them. They just go inactive until the connection is healthy again, then they run as normal. So you can safely do a full reset without losing your work.

The "post not found / lost connection" after reconnecting is almost always a ghost connection stuck on Meta's side, and refreshing permissions inside ManyChat won't clear it. Do a full reset instead:

1. Facebook: Settings & Privacy > Settings > Business Integrations, remove ManyChat.

2. Instagram: Settings > Apps and websites, remove ManyChat-IG.

3. Make sure "Allow access to messages" is ON in your IG settings.

4. On your Facebook Page, check the handover protocol / advanced messaging settings and make sure ManyChat is set as the primary receiver. This is usually the exact reason old automations still run but you can't edit them and new ones don't fire.

5. Clear your browser cache, then reconnect from ManyChat, and don't uncheck any permission boxes on the Meta screen. Unchecking even one breaks it.

Since a couple of you are hitting this at the same time, it may also be a Meta-side sync glitch. If the full reset doesn't fix it, that's the point where only ManyChat support can reset it on their backend.

Hi @Crystal714 and @ibala are you still facing this issue?

Here are a few things I’d recommend double-checking:

  1. Instagram permissions A quick fix that often helps is refreshing your Instagram permissions in ManyChat.
You can do this by going to your ManyChat account and clicking Help → Refresh Permissions.
  2. Follow the official IG automation troubleshooting guide
This step-by-step guide covers several edge cases that can cause comment automations to stop firing and is very helpful for diagnosing issues like this:
    https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/14281308423452-Instagram-automation-troubleshooting
  3. Check for platform-wide issues
Sometimes this is related to a temporary issue on Instagram or ManyChat’s side. You can check the current system status here:
    https://status.manychat.com/
  4. One-time trigger behavior
Just as a reminder, Instagram comment automations only trigger once per user per post. If the same user commented again, the automation would not fire a second time.

Hopefully one of these points helps you pinpoint the issue and you can solve it soon.

Cheers,
