I set up an automation where, when someone commented a specific word on my post, they’d get a DM. It worked the first time I used it, but even though it’s still live, it doesn’t work anymore. What should I do?

Hey @LucaPl the comments automation works once per user.

So if you already commented and you comment again, it won’t trigger.

Are you testing with the same user, or different users?

Three different accounts commented. None of them received any DM or response to their comment, even though the first time I implemented this automation, it worked when someone commented.

Got it @LucaPl

So start by refreshing permissions, that solves 95% of issues.

If it still fails and you don’t have any weird conditions or logic that may be blocking it, contact support here:

I've been experiencing the same issue on two Instagram accounts for three weeks. I've followed all the troubleshooting steps suggested by ManyChat support (including checking permissions, reconnecting to Instagram, deleting triggers, etc.), but unfortunately nothing has worked.

Automations for direct messages, comments, and story replies have completely stopped working. The connection to Meta is active and shows no errors. It definitely seems like a more serious issue.

I regret to say that this situation is unacceptable from a user perspective, especially given the lack of resolution. The support we've received so far hasn't worked and raises questions about whether the information we're being given is real: a general issue with Meta.

Hi @RaquelNM !

It’s also happening to us for more than 3 weeks too…

Feedback from support is the same as yours. Meta issue that no one seems to take care about.

I guess now it is working..

@MatthewNorrr Appreciate the update, but not on my accounts. I refreshed the permissions, but it’s still the same: not working.

After about three weeks of issues, everything is working again on two Instagram accounts.

This is the behavior I'm seeing now with comment automations:

A user can trigger the automation once per post.

The same user can trigger it again on another post.

Removing the user from Manychat doesn't allow them to trigger it again on the same post.

Since then, direct messages, comment replies, and story replies are running correctly, following the previous logic.

A user can trigger the automation once per post.

@RaquelNM this is the expected behavior and how Manychat works.

So everything is working correctly on your side! :)
