Instagram Comment Trigger Not Working

Hi everyone,

I duplicated an automation to start fresh, but the new duplicated flow isn't working at all.

The Setup:

  • Trigger: Instagram User comments a specific keyword, e.g., "Fix"

  • Flow: An automatic DM is triggered asking the user for their email address.

  • Action: The email is successfully captured in ManyChat, and an action is set to send that email data directly to MailerLite.

What I've Tried:

  1. Tested with a friend's Instagram account using the exact keyword comment. Nothing happens, it’s not triggering the dm.

  2. I’ve refreshed meta/insta permissions

Does anyone have any advice?

    Hi ​@Kiki S, be sure you have published your new flow. Also here are a few things I’d recommend double-checking:

    1. Instagram permissions A quick fix that often helps is refreshing your Instagram permissions in ManyChat.
      You can do this by going to your ManyChat account and clicking Help → Refresh Permissions.
    2. Follow the official IG automation troubleshooting guide
      This step-by-step guide covers several edge cases that can cause comment automations to stop firing and is very helpful for diagnosing issues like this:

    3. Check for platform-wide issues
      Sometimes this is related to a temporary issue on Instagram or ManyChat’s side. You can check the current system status here:

    4. One-time trigger behavior
      Just as a reminder, Instagram comment automations only trigger once per user per post. If the same user commented again, the automation would not fire a second time.
