Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone here has experienced this before. My Instagram Business account is connected to ManyChat and I can see new contacts appear in my Audience list when they send me a DM — but no automation replies are sent at all.

Here’s everything I’ve tried so far:

  1. Tested on a new ManyChat account with a simple “send hi” flow — same result.

  2. Confirmed Instagram account is Business (not Creator/Personal).

  3. Tried with multiple external IG accounts to trigger the flow.

  4. Flow is published, trigger is a keyword, and the first step is a simple message.

  5. Checked in Live Chat — incoming DMs appear, but automation doesn’t start.

  6. Followed ManyChat support’s Instagram Automation Troubleshooting steps:

    • Refreshed Facebook/Instagram permissions.

    • Reset ManyChat permissions in Facebook Business Integrations.

    • Verified messaging settings (“Allow access to messages” is ON).

    • Checked Handover Protocol in Facebook Page settings.

    • No age/country restrictions.

  7. Even tried connecting the account via the old API steps provided by support.

At this point, it’s looking like an Instagram Messaging API issue with my account — but I’d love to hear if anyone has had a similar case and found a fix.

Has anyone been able to resolve this without switching accounts or platforms?

Thanks for your message.

It's definitely not a keyword issue. I'm not new to ManyChat, I’ve built advanced automations using the platform before, including complex flows and integrations.

The problem seems to be deeper and I’d appreciate it if we could look beyond the basics to find a real solution.
